Notes:

Presented by Dr. Marie-Pierre Rogeau
Marie-Pierre is a long-term resident of the Bow Valley.  She moved to Banff in 1991 to conduct the fire history of Banff National Park as a Master’s Degree project, under the mentoring of our well-known Dr. Cliff White.  M-P has been consulting in the field of fire regime and fire history analysis ever since and has conducted numerous fire history research in western Canada, notably in the Subalpine, Foothills and Montane natural subregions of Alberta.  In 2016 she obtained her PhD at the UofA.  Today she is presenting part of her thesis results and will discuss the implication of a changing fire regime under a changing climate compounded by modified forest conditions following decades of fire exclusion policies.
Coffee is available and discussion encouraged.  Donations are welcomed
