A fairly easy hike with very little elevation to a lovely lake with Boom Mountain rising above the south shore,and Quadra and Bident Mountains beyond.
We will first do the Paint Pots Trail ( 2.5 km 35 m ) then drive to Marble Canyon ( 2.4km 65 m elev) at Marble at usual spot we will have lunch I checked Trail between the 2 and too many fallen logs across
Interesting hike through a year old burn area and with a side trip to “vault” that was built to house documents during the “cold war”. A flashlight or headlamp is recommended to explore the vault.
Meeting place in the parking lot in front of the Sand Traps Restaurant at the Golf and Curling Club in Canmore. Nice circuit along trails and the already dry flood channels of the Bow River in the Larch Islands.
