George Melnyk is a cultural historian, author, and Professor Emeritus of Communications, Media and Film, at the University of Calgary. The son of Ukrainian parents, George was born and grew up in a displaced-persons camp in Germany.  He and his family arrived in Canada in 1949.  His trajectory has been most impressive, embracing human rights, freedom of expression, and peace.,

John Lamming is a Sergeant with the RCMP, and currently leads the Edmonton Federal Financial Crime Teams, targeting serious and organized crime.   From 2016 to 2017 he was deployed with the RCMP’s International Peace Operations Branch as a training advisor, working with Ukraine’s government and the EU to reform their security sector to establish rule of law in support of democracy.  He has a Master of Arts in History from the University of Windsor, and has been a member of the RCMP since 2007, working in Grande Prairie, Calgary, Ukraine, Toronto, Lloydminster and now Edmonton.
