Notes:
We will keep a steady uphill pace for a few kilometres, before reaching the meadow leading to the lake. After the lake, we will climb to the interesting elephant rocks, where we will have lunch.
Bears are often around, so please bring your bear spray, along with your water, lunch, poles if you use them, etc.
Let’s meet at Benchlands Trail parking lot. The trailhead can be reached on the Smith-Dorrien from Canmore or alternatively going on Highway 40 and doubling back 20 kms on the Smith-Dorrien (which is what I plan to do). Carpooling is currently permitted by the CSA but is completely optional.
When signing up, kindly let me know your active CSA number (did you remember to renew on July 1st?), your cell phone number and your thoughts on whether you’d like to carpool as a driver or passenger, or whether you’d prefer to get there on your own.
We will postpone in the event of inclement weather.
