Cancelled because of high risk of not getting seats on the “early bird” shuttle due to overwhelming demand.
We’ll take the “early bird” shuttle from the Park and Ride parking lot east of Lake Louise to Moraine Lake because parking at the lake may not be an option.
Shuttle leaves at 7:00 hrs. sharp ( or the last one ! ) at 7:30 hrs. from the P&R. parking lot. The fare is $ 4 for seniors over 65.
The last return shuttle leaves Moraine Lake at 16:40 hrs.
A fairly steep switchback trail reaches the low grade panoramic high-lane trail of the “Valley Of The 10 Peaks” . The last steeper section of the trail beyond Eiffel Lake and below Wenkchemna pass has often larger lingering snow patches, even into late summer requiring sturdy – waterproof hiking boots, gators and hiking poles . We’ll decide at Eiffel Lake on whether or not to proceed all the way to the pass – depending on weather/snow/trail conditions/time constraints.
Also please bring your pepper spray.
There might be a mandatory minimum hiking group restriction implemented by Parks Canada later in the summer.
