We will start from Chester Lake parking and cut across and up to Headwall Lakes and then climb scree and rock to a col. From the col it is an easy scramble up to the summit of Fortress with very little exposure. Return to the col and drop steeply down scree and rocky terrain to Chester lake. This will be a long day.
There is the option to wait at the col while others summit and return.
