One of the best hikes in the Rockies. This hike is in Yoho National Park.
We plan to hike from the Hostel just before Takakkaw Falls parking lots to the high point at Iceline Summit on the way to Stanley Mitchell ACC hut.
The first part of the hike is steep. Once we are above the treeline the views are spectacular for the majority of the hike. The trail is not technical and there is no exposure.
There may be a small amount of snow, but forecasts are currently for a fairly dry week with sun and daytime highs along the trail about 6C.
We’ll need to move along at a fair pace to keep our on trail time at about 6 hours. (driving time is about 1.5 hours each way).
