Lessons Learned from the School of Hard Knocks by an International Corporate Lawyer

Jim spent most of his legal career as an international corporate lawyer, manager and executive with large publicly traded multinational corporations headquartered in Calgary – NOVA Corporation, Talisman Energy, Viterra and Enbridge.  He led the legal work on natural gas and oil pipeline projects in South America and Africa; oil and gas exploration and development in South America, the Middle East and Europe; offshore wind power acquisitions in the UK and France; and corporate acquisition, divestiture and merger transactions in Africa, South America, the United States and the United Kingdom, including the merger of Enbridge and Spectra Energy in 2017 to create North America’s largest energy infrastructure company.  Jim has a B.A. from the University of Toronto, an LL.B and M.B.A. from Western University and an LL.M from Harvard Law School.
