With a focus on inclusivity, shared goals and outcomes, CRPS works collaboratively, recognizing and valuing each student’s unique strengths and challenges. Strategies include:

  • Academic programming, targeting optimum student outcomes.
  • Indigenous education
  • Partnerships fostering entrepreneurial spirit.

This presentation will explain how entrepreneurial spirit and drive have resulted in alternate forms of revenue and exciting new projects and facilities in our CRPS schools.

Chris is originally from Cape Breton, was educated at Dalhousie University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology, a Bachelor of Education degree as a science major and a Master of Education degree. Chris has been dedicated to education for more than two decades and his career has across the country and to the far Arctic. He has held many senior administrative positions before accepting his current position as Superintendent of Schools for Canadian Rockies Public Schools. In addition, Chris has completed an appointment as President for the Board of Directors of CASS (College of Alberta School Superintendents).

Chris will be joined by Debbie McKibbin, Deputy Superintendent Canadian Rockies Public Schools who with a Bachelor of Science degree, Bachelor of Education degree and a graduate certificate in Labour Relations and Human Resources from Queen’s University IRC. Debbie brings thirty years of educational experience to her position. Over the course of her career Debbie has worked as a teacher, coordinator, assistant principal, principal and Director of Learning and Innovation within CRPS.
