Annual Opening Hike For All Levels – Bow Valley PP

Date/Time
Date(s) - Wed Apr 17 2019
9:15 am

Notes:

MEET/CAR-POOL behind Save-On at 9:15 to DEPART by 9:30 am.

If you plan to drive please park in a neat queue on the paved roadway by the curb (double park if needed, but leave room for traffic to pass).

If you need a ride park on the gravel area alongside rail tracks and walk to the lined up vehicles waiting on road. There are also parking spaces behind the big recycle bins.

Do not leave vehicles in any signed Save-On parking – you may be towed.

We have designed a loop made up of selected sections of Bow Valley Provincial Park trails from Middle Lake, Power Lines, BV Campground, Moraine Interpretive, and Bike Trails.

Weather forecast is good, crocuses are out, some migrant birds have arrived, and the trail is water and snow free.

The whole route could be paved (with the option to walk on the grass alongside) or a mix of paved and gravel depending on group’s preferences.

Hike will end back at Middle Lake parking then we will catch up on the winter’s tales over the picnic lunch you brought. If you plan to just join us for lunch, be at Middle Lake parking about 11:45 am.

The Spring easy walk is a chance to connect with all the members of all abilities and open the season with friends who may not hike at your regular level.

Once again the annual opening had to be moved due to Banff Park Fisheries work at Johnson Lake.
