Change of Speaker

Unfortunately Judy Johnson’s presentation had to be cancelled due to illness and we wish Judy a speedy recovery.  We hope to reschedule Judy’s talk to a later date.

The Canmore Museum will be stepping in to tell us about an exciting new pilot project!

The Miner’s Plaque Project Revitalization and Expansion

The Canmore Museum has been scouring its archives to expand on an earlier project that saw families purchase plaques with the names of miners who contributed to Canmore and should be remembered.  We knew there was so much more than a name on a plaque to explore which led to our new pilot project, an interactive display that aims to build a profile with photos, biographies, and audio clips for as many names on the plaques as we can.  We are looking for input and opinions on the project as well as any details you might have about the miners.  We will bring a list of names that we are starting with and would like to do some brainstorming around what visitors would like to or should know about each of these people. The quirkier and more interesting the story, the better!
