The route will be chosen to maximize the scree runs so we will not use the new (2022) lower loop. If you’re not use to scree running but would like to, this is a great place to get confidence as the slopes are benign, even and a lot of fun- you don’t have to be an expert.
A great joy of the Yammy hike, besides its long and easy scree runs, is its spectacular views. If the smoke or inclement weather are going to threaten our visibility, we’ll postpone.
At the time of posting the remaining spots of snow are minimal but, just in case, I wouldn’t want to dissuade you from bringing grippers.
