Start from Chester Lake trailhead go up to Headwall Lakes climb scree to col then scramble up to Fortress one small crux to summit very little exposure. Return to col and drop down scree to above Chester lake. This will be a long day. May not be back till 6:00 pm

Hike up to Rummel Lake and on through sub-alpine meadows and some rubble to Rummel Pass, sturdy hiking boots required, hiking poles recommended. Possibly some lingering snow below pass, may need gators. Meadows around and above Rummel lake contain good grizz. habitat - please bring your pepper spray.
The hike begins with a 100 m. descent to Vista Lake & then climbs 600 m. up to Arnica L.
