Meet at the Harvey Heights gravel parking lot ( may still be icy ).
Shortly after passing the Park gate heading West there is an unsigned turnoff into a small parking lot . We can follow the old road for 2 km up an even low grade through the fire break to a short slope down to Carrot creek and return the same way. Feb. 10. I could walk on hard packed snow and grassy areas using micro spikes. This is one of the view remaining places where one can hike in the montane- low visit area. In the event of a significant snow fall, snow shoes may be required. Bring pepper spray, some bears may pop out of their dens if those spring like conditions continue.
