Meet at the Harvey Heights gravel parking lot ( may still be icy ).
Shortly after passing the park gate heading West there is an unsigned turnoff into a small parking lot ( with toilet ). We can follow the old road for 2 km up an even low grade through the fire break to a short slope down to Carrot creek. Micro spikes or good grippers required.
This is one of the few areas where one can hike in the montane- low visit area. In the event of a significant snow fall, snow shoes may be required. We’ll have a short-picnic down by the creek and return the same way.
