A relatively short trail with superb views. The plan is to combine two shorter hikes.We will follow the northern trial to Arethusa Cirque (sometimes muddy and a few steep parts), hike the trail to the left to the top of Little Arethusa (variable bare rock and irregular scree). We will retrace our steps to the cirque and follow the cirque trail across the cirque before descending via the southern trail from Arethusa Cirque.
The larch may be a little past peak- hard to tell.
The Little Arethusa trail from the cirque climbs 350m in about 1.2 km. (steep).
