Notes:
We find ourselves in a critical time where our mission to conserve nature has become more urgent than ever. The world faces environmental challenges such as habitat loss, loss of connectivity, climate change, and species extinction – necessitating prompt and decisive action.
Nature, with its beauty and complex ecosystems, is not only a source of inspiration but also essential for our own existence. The Nature Conservancy of Canada’s (NCC) efforts to conserve and safeguard our lands ensure the provision of clean air, fresh water and a resilient environment for future generations: a sustainable future where both humans and nature can thrive together.
By 2030 NCC plans to conserve 500,000 hectares of grasslands, based on knowledge and science-driven strategies and our experience conserving more than 15 million hectares across Canada. Why grasslands? Join us to learn about where and how NCC works across Alberta, how we collaborate, and our ambitious vision for the future.
About Kylie Pollard:
Kylie Pollard is a Senior Development Officer, Major Gifts with NCC Alberta Region. She came to NCC with an education in international business and a background in public relations and fundraising. A lifelong outdoors person, her fascination with wild spaces led her to seek out a position with the NCC Alberta team in 2022. She spends her “work” days connecting with inspired conservation-minded individuals, sharing NCC’s sustainable vision for the future, and further acquainting herself with the spectacular landscape she feels fortunate to call home. When she is not working, her days look rather similar, but with her curious 5 year old daughter in tow.
