This moderately difficult hike offers a range of terrains from forests to alpine meadows ending in a steep switchback climb to the pass. There is no exposure but there is a scree slope near the top. The views of Ribbon Lake valley and Guinn’s Pass are well worth the effort. BONUS: we pass through a stand of larches which could be starting to turn golden.
