Looking at several weather forecasts the weather now looks to be wet and colder going west but still ok going east. So, to hopefully have a more enjoyable day I have changed the hike to Yates Mountain. Now just a B hike.
We will carry on past the normal top end of the loop to ascend a moraine ridge right up to the toe of the glacier. Lunch on the glacier! The extra section is on a very minor trail and has some steep and rocky bits but no exposure.
Bring micro-spikes for potential snow/ice. If the final section is in poor condition, we will do an earlier turnaround.
