It is easy to go too fast at the start of this hike leading to fatigue later where more energy is needed. The pace will be kept slow (2-3kph) until after Point Lace junction-canyon climb section.
Last week there was a lot of high snow and even marmots had been driven to the valley bottom in search of food. Elk were also calving much lower than usual so delays are possible if we do encounter. I suggest carrying an afternoon snack in addition to lunch and not scheduling early dinner so we have time to admire the waterfalls/wildlife without rushing.
It seems that the “out of office” auto-reply function is being blocked by some providers – apparently some international security update not fully adopted. Apologies if you don’t get an immediate response
